YEKATERINBURG, November 9. /TASS/. Russia’s START manufacturer (Yaskin Research and Production Enterprise START) have begun the delivery of equipment from the Buk air defense missile system to a foreign customer, the company’s press service told TASS on Monday.
“The 9T243 transport vehicle and 9T458 missile maintenance workshop vehicle have successfully passed the inspection of Rosoboronexport [Russian arms exporting company] that checked the configuration and appearance of the vehicles. During November 2015, START will complete the shipment of the vehicles to a foreign customer,” the press service said.
According to the company CEO Vladimir Tretyakov, the contract was concluded in 2013. “The START Research and Production Enterprise fulfils its contract obligations and ships the equipment on time, which was confirmed by the Rosoboronexport inspection,” he said.
The START Research and Production Enterprise (part of the Aviation Equipment Holding of Rostec State Corporation) has been exporting military equipment to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as countries of the Middle East, South America, Southeast Asia and Africa since 1996. The company is a leader in the development of launch vehicles and mechanisms for anti-aircraft missile and missile defense systems, shipboard launchers, airborne launchers and ejection systems, complexes for ground servicing of the sea-based and air-based missile systems. Since its establishment, START has developed and transferred to serial production more than 320 new weapon models.
