In London, the Russian space exhibition starts

LONDON, September 17. The British at the opening in London of the Russian space exhibition will be able to see something that is not available to most Russians – engines of ballistic missiles with space  “scars”,  personal things of astronauts, subjects of their life in orbit, and even cosmic showers.


The official opening ceremony of the exhibition “The astronauts: the birth of the Space Era” at London’s Science Museum will be held on Thursday with the participation of high-ranking guests from Moscow, including Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, the first woman cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, the director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the daughter of the first cosmonaut Elena Gagarina. For the public exhibition will be opened on Friday, September 18. It will work until March 13, 2016.


The exhibition was to be held last year, but was delayed because of problems with the provision of guarantees from the British side. From Moscow it was brought rare exhibits related to the Soviet space program and had never exported outside of Russia. The exposition was prepared in collaboration with the Moscow Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics and the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos).

“Space exhibition, opens a very important page in the history of the Soviet, Russian state.” –  in an interview with RIA Novosti special representative of Russian President for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi  said – “We were pioneers in this space project – this is one of the largest in the history of our country, indicating the high intellectual level and capacity”, – said the Special Representative.

He noted that “Russia today often positioned as a country with rich energy resources”, but it is important “to reflect it as a country with the highest scientific and technological potential and intelligence.”

This event – “a perfect example of that cultural cooperation between Russia and Britain continues to unite our country in times of political differences,” commented the eve of the opening of the exhibition the Russian ambassador in London Alexander Yakovenko.


“The exhibition opens, and we can share not only the knowledge and experience that is acquired in preparation for space flight, but also to talk about plans for the future of the Russian space program,” – he said yesterday at a gala evening Valentina Tereshkova.

Russian Helicopters showed “ANSAT” during the industrial exhibition Innoprom-2015



Russian Helicopters (part of State Corporation Rostec) is taking part in the sixth international industrial exhibition Innoprom-2015, which is being held from the 8th to the 11th of July 2015. The company will showcase its Ansat multipurpose helicopter at Innoprom, which is taking place at the Ekaterinburg-Expo International Exhibition Centre. Russian Helicopters’ exhibition can be found at stand 3B29.
The Ansat helicopter has a number of competitive advantages compared to counterparts in its class. It is reliable and easy to operate, can be used in a wide range of climatic conditions, and does not need to be stored in a hangar.

Russia Consolidates Positions on Arms Market in Latin America

According to Russia’s delegation of the state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Russia is consolidating its positions on the Latin American arms market.

LIMA . Russia is consolidating its positions on the Latin American arms market, despite the strong presence of Western countries in the region, the head of Russia’s delegation of the state arms exporter Rosoboronexport to the weapons exhibition in Lima said.“Rosoboronexport is consistently strengthening its positions in Latin American countries. Positions of our competitors are very solid, which makes process difficult. But a tendency toward closer ties in defense is obvious,” Sergei Ladygin said.

The delegation head explained that Russia and Latin America have common views on key geopolitical issues and mutual interest in expanding cooperation in trade, science and industry.

“If we speak specifically about certain types of weapons, the most promising segment of the Latin American market is aviation, especially helicopters. This is followed by armament, ground force equipment, and various kinds of air defense systems,” Ladygin said.

Russia is actively expanding military cooperation with Latin American countries, including arms sales, construction of naval maintenance and resupply facilities, and the occasional use of local airbases to host Russian strategic bombers on global patrol missions.

Several Latin American countries have also shown potential for cooperating with Russia on high-tech development and manufacturing. Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and Chile are among the countries that have declared an interest in developing foreign trade and cooperation with Russia, according to the Russian state technology company Rostec.


Russia to Send Nearly 700 Pieces of Military Equipment to Peru Exhibit

Russian companies will present a total of about 700 pieces of various weaponry and military equipment at the upcoming SITDEF 2015 trade show in Peru, Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) said Tuesday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The exhibition, the complete name of which translates from Spanish as “international exhibition of technology for defense and the prevention of natural disasters,” is set to take place in Peru’s capital Lima from May 14 to 17.

“Under the auspices of the Russian exhibition organizer, the state corporation Rostec, 12 Russian companies will present stands, 10 of which will present military products,” the FSMTC said in a statement.

Over 60 foreign companies will participate in the event, presenting products including armored vehicles and artillery, aircraft and avionics systems, medical equipment, and construction machinery.


Russian state weaponry exporter to represent 400 companies at fair in Turkey

MOSCOW, May 5. /TASS/. Main exporter of Russian defence industry products, Rosoboronexport, will display the produce of more than 400 Russian manufacturers at IDEF’15 exhibition in Turkey, the head of the company’s delegation, Anatoly Aksyonov told TASS.

“Rosoboronexport is the only state mediator in Russia in terms of exports and imports of the entire spectrum of defence-related and dual products, technologies and services. Its status furnishes it with unique opportunities to represent its products at the international defence industry fair IDEF’15 in Istanbul,” Aksyonov said.

Possible supplies of the Antei-2500 antiaircraft missile systems to Turkey stay fully within the latter country’s powers to decide, said Aksyonov.

On September 2014, the committee secretariat decided to continue detailed talks on the issue with the Chinese company manufacturing FD-2000 complexes. Along with it, the Turks drew up a shortlist where the Chinese option occupies the top position, the U.S. stands second with the Patriot missiles and the SMART systems manufactured by the Italian-French corporation Eurosam turned up at the third place.

The Antei-2500 complexes were also put up for the bidding but it withdrew from the contest upon studying the proposals.

Turkish Army plans getting twelve complexes at the first stage of the project and to pay $ 3.5 billion to $ 4.0 billion for them.

Turkey is expected to take the final decision upon the end of talks with the participants on the transfers of technologies and other crucial matters upon the end of talks.

IDEF’15 will be held in Istanbul from May 5 through to May 8. It organizers say more than 700 companies from 46 countries will be represented.

The largest displays are those of Turkey with 265 companies and the U.S. (101 companies). German, British and French pavilions at the fair will also be impressive.

Russia will be represented by the state corporation Rotech and Rosoboronexport, which is a subsidiary of the former.

“Rostec” to showcase the newest weapons at LAAD-2015 exhibition


At the LAAD 2015 International Defense and Security Exhibition to be held from April 14 to 17 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) Rosoboronexport, part of the Rostec State Corporation, will discuss prospects for expanding military-technical cooperation with Brazil and other Latin American countries.

Rosoboronexport’s delegation and Brazilian partners will discuss the issues of establishing licensed production facilities, joint R&D projects, the development of new models of weapons and military equipment, including for delivery to third countries.
Rosoboronexport expects that Latin American partners will take interest in the super agile Su-35 multipurpose fighter, Yak-130 combat training aircraft, Mi-35M attack/transport helicopter, Mi-17-type military transport helicopters, Mi-28NE and Ka-52 attack helicopters, Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun system, Nebo-SVU radar. In the area of army materiel, the Russian automotive equipment – Tigr and Gorets-M armored vehicles, as well as KamAZ military trucks – have good export prospects in the region.

MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Almost 30 Russian defense organizations will take part in an international defense and security exhibition “LAAD-2015” which is opening in Rio de Janeiro on April 14, the Russian Federal Service for military and technical cooperation said on Friday. Head of the federal service Alexander Fomin will head the Russian delegation to the Rio de Janeiro exhibition.

Seventeen out of 29 Russian participants, including Rosoboronexport, Helicopters of Russia, Instrument Design Bureau (KPB) and other companies, will present models and makeshift copies of almost 670 kinds of military hardware and aircraft, including training plane Yak-130, Su-35 jet, military and transport plane Il-76MD-90, helicopters of different modifications, coastal guard ships, including Frigate Gepard-3.9″ and a test model for Pantsir-1 surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery complex.

LAAD exhibitions have been held since 1992 under the patronage of the defense and foreign ministries of Brazil. A total of 595 companies from 45 world countries have applied to take part in the exhibition which will be held on the premises with an overall territory of more than 67, 000 square meters and will be attended by 128 official delegations from 61 world countries.
