Russian Defence Ministry held a meeting with the delegation of Switzerland on defence and civilian protection

On October 13, Lieutenant General Vladimir Ivanovsky, Chief of the Main Directorate of the military police of the Russian Defence Ministry had a meeting with delegation of Switzerland on the issues of defence and civilian protection.

A wide range of issues concerning participation of military police units of the Russian Armed Forces in providing national security has been discussed at the session.

“Despite its comparatively short history, the military police department has proved its necessity,” stressed Vladimir Ivanovsky at the meeting with delegation from Switzerland.

According to him, units of the military police are actively interacting with MIA, Emergency Ministry, and National Guard of Russia in the field of protection of public order, road-traffic safety, and emergency situations.
