“Naval interaction-2016” exercise is held in a milestone year for the Russian Navy

 

Joint Russian-Chinese exercise “Naval interaction-2016” h exercise is held in a milestone year for the Russian Navy. This was announced today by the Deputy Chief of the Russian Navy Vice-Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov at the opening ceremony of the exercise.

In the current year the exercises have a number of features. “For us it is very important that it is held in the year of the 320th anniversary since the formation of the regular fleet of the Russian Navy. For us it is especially important that this year we conduct joint military exercises for the first time in the South China Sea with our Chinese friends,” he said.

After the opening ceremony missions for the exercise were tasked to the Commanders in the Joint Command Staff.

During the day, the Russian and Chinese sailors will compete in practicing the elements of the damage control, will hold a contest in small arms shooting and passing of the obstacle course. There will also be competitions in football, table tennis and tug of war.

The Russian ship group consists of major ASW ships Admiral Tributs and Admiral Vinogradov, the major landing ship Peresvet, the sea tug Alatau and the Pechenga tanker. The Commander of the group is Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit.

The exercise will involve two submarines, 13 surface ships, 20 aircraft and helicopters, more than 250 marines as well as 12 armored personnel carriers and amphibious armored vehicles.

The active phase of the exercise will be held on September 15-19.

Naval group of the Pacific Fleet arrived in the PRC to participate in the Russian-Chinese exercise “Naval interaction-2016”

 

 

The naval group of the Pacific Fleet has arrived in the Zhanjiang Port (People’s Republic of China) for participation in the joint Russian-Chinese naval exercise Naval interaction – 2016.

The group consists of major ASW ships Admiral Tributs and Admiral Vinogradov, the major landing ship Peresvet, the sea tug Alatau and the Pechenga tanker. The Commander of the group is Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit.

During the entrance into the foreign port, the military seamen of both countries fired “international salute” (21 volleys from each side). The servicemen of the Pacific Fleet were met at the quay by representatives of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy, as well as the silent drill team and the orchestra.

The joint Russian-Chinese exercise will take place on September 12-19 in the air, coastal and maritime zones of the South China Sea.
