Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu took part in the closing ceremony and awarding of the winners of 23 contests of the International Army Games 2016 took place in Alabino.
The head of the Russian defence department presented the Cup of the Games to the Russian team.
General of the Army Sergei Shoigu also awarded golden medals and the “Tank biathlon” Cup the Russian team. Team of China won the silver medals. Military servicemen from Kazakhstan took the third position.
The International Army Games 2016 started in the territories of Russia and Kazakhstan on July 30. Military servicemen from 19 countries competed for the title of the best in 23 contests. In total, the Russian servicemen won 20 golden medals, team of Kazakhstan – 2, and Chinese specialists – 1.
In his speech General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that about 3,500 specialists of different professions participated in the Games. They showed the highest level of professionalism and will-to-win spirit.
Today, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the “Depth” international contest among military divers was held in Sevastopol.
Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Korolyov expressed his gratitude to the participants for high level of competitiveness and awarded prizes.
Russian divers won the international contest. Teams of Iran and Venezuela took the 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
Final stage of the “Seaborne assault” international contest is taking place at the Hmelyovka (Kaliningrad Region) tomorrow.
Teams of Marines from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Iran and Venezuela will compete in the relay race. The contest winner will be defined according to results of this stage.
Participants are to pass 10 km route overcoming different obstacles on IFVs with assault units in it, pass qualification standards in firing and grenade throwing, and float in the Baltic Sea.
On August 9, the final stage of the military race “Engineering formula” will take place at the Voljsky range in the Volgograd Region.
Military engineers from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and China will compete in driving heavy engineering vehicles.
The servicemen will pass several laps (4 km each) performing special tasks in the assigned zones.
The winners will receive commemorative prizes with symbols of the Engineer Troops of the Russian Armed Forces.
The spectators will also see the new feature of the contest – “Engineer ballet” – with participation of special vehicles IMR-2. A pair of Mi-35 helicopters will hover above the range effectuating combat aerobatics.
Combat crews will engage target-missiles “Armavir” and “Kaban”. The air attack will be the same for all the participants.
According to the results of the previous stages, the Russian team is in the lead of the competitions.
Spectators and guests of the contest will be able to see dog-fight between fighters MiG-29, combat launches of S-300 SAM systems as well as of cannon-missile AD systems Pantsir-S against aerial targets, launches of missiles from MiG-29 as well as bombing performed by pilots of Tu-22M3 and Su-34 aircraft.
The contest is participated by teams from Kazakhstan, Belarus, China and Russia.
The third stage of the international contest “Seaborne assault” has come to an end at the Khmelyovka range of the Baltic Feet.
Teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Iran and Venezuela competed in pursuit race.
According to the results, the best are the servicemen of Russia and Kazakhstan. They are followed by teams from China and Venezuela. The crews from Iran are in the bottom of the rating table.
The final stage “Relay race” will take place on August 9. It will define the best team of the “Seaborne assault-2016”.
Team of the Armed Forces of Iran will possibly take part in the “Gunsmith Master” international contest in 2017. This was stated by representative of the military delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Hod Siani after the second stage of the contest.
Military delegation of Iran is taking part in the International Army Games 2016 as observers. Iranian officers are impressed by the contest, and they are to start train the team for the contest in the nearest future.
The “Gunsmith master” international contest is held at the Uchebny range located in the Penza Region on August 1-10 in course of the International Army Games. Teams of the Armed Forces of Russia, Kazakhstan and China are competing for the title of the best in the contest.
At the end of the first stage of the International Army Games-2016 competition “Elbrus Ring” held in Kabardino-Balkaria on the base of the Training center Terskol, the Russian Armed Forces team took the lead.
Members of the five teams that represent Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Iran and Russian DOSAAF (Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Fleet) completed two special tasks: individual climbing and team climbing.
In individual climbing, the Russian team showed the best results scoring 1000 points. The china team achieved the second best result – 886 points, while the third place went to Kazakhstan that got 266 points.
In team climbing, the Russian servicemen also ended up being second to none. Winners of the second task, they earned 940 points and were followed by the Iranian team with 437 points and the Chinese team with 377 points.
After completing the two special tasks, the Russian team scored 1940 points, which put it ahead of the runner-up Chinese team by 677 points.
Today in the suburbs of Novorossiysk, the opening ceremony of the international competition “Airborne platoon” was held.
The flag of the ARMY-2016 competitions was raised in Rayevsky training area. Teams from Belarus, Venezuela, Egypt, Iran, Kazakhstan, China and Russia participated in the ceremony.
The contest is divided into four stages. At the first stage, the participants will have to land using D-10 4 series parachute systems, carry out a 10 km battle march and compete in an individual race on AFV (APC). The second stage is an AFV (APC) sprint, the third one includes an AFV (APC) pursuit race with afloat firing, the fourth one – a relay race on AFV (APC), a mountain (relay) race without crews, firing with small arms and grenade launchers, accurate grenade throwing and water area fording.
There are 29 servicemen in each team, including 7 members who are part of the reserve section.
Overall, there will be a grand total of 300 paratroopers from Belarus, Venezuela, Egypt, Iran, Kazakhstan, China and Russia. The winners will be made known on August 12.
Commander of the Black Sea Fleet Admiral Alexander Vitko opened the “Depth” international contest in Sevastopol held in course of the International Army Games 2016.
The opening ceremony was held at the diving training area of the Joint training centre of the Russian Navy.
Teams of Russian Navy, Ministry of Emergency Situations, DOSAAF (Voluntary Association for Assistance to Army, Air Force and Navy), Iran, and Venezuela are participating in the contest. Representative of the Military Attaché of India to Russia is taking part in the contest as an observer.
Participants of the contest are to compete in underwater orienting using the compass, providing first aid to a diver in emergency situation, searching and picking up sunk objects, underwater welding and cutting.
