Today within the International military and technical forum “Army-2016” Defence Ministers of Russia and Argentina General of the Army Sergei Shoigu and Julio César Martínez have held negotiations in Moscow.
Opening the talks, the Russian Minister of Defence congratulated his counterpart with a remarkable date – the 200th anniversary of independence and wished the Argentinean people prosperity and welfare.
“It is important for us to keep building up bilateral contacts within the strategic partnership. This was confirmed during the recent meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Argentina at the G20 Summit in China. We are satisfied with the fact that the Argentinean party is ready to extend relations in the military field as well,” stressed the Head of the Russian military department.
Sergei Shoigu declared that the Russian party was ready to “contribute to the strengthening of interaction especially within the Russian-Argentinean agreement on military cooperation”.
The Russian Defence Minister wished Argentinean delegation fruitful work at the Forum “Army-2016”.
In his turn, Julio César Martínez confirmed the intention of Buenos Aires to develop the mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia in the military field.
“I present cordial greetings of the President of Argentina Mauricio Macri. I have received an order to enhance the relationships with your country, which have always been excellent, and I think that we should keep reaching new objectives in the bilateral relationships,” said Julio César Martínez.
According to him, it is important for Argentina “to develop cooperation in the field of defence, during peacekeeping operations, emergency relief operations”.
“There is much work to be done,” resumed Julio César Martínez.
