(FNA)- Over 45 ISIL terrorists were killed and many more were wounded in a failed attack on government forces’ positions North of Kuweires airbase.

Syrian Army soldiers repelled ISIL’s offensive on their positions in the villages of Rasm a-Harmal and Nasrallah, killing more than 45 terrorists and wounding many more.

The army also destroyed 7 vehicles of the ISIL, including 3 pick-up trucks equipped with 23mm anti-aircraft machineguns.

A military source disclosed on Wednesday that the army troops and popular forces got ready to carry out a fresh round of offensives to liberate the territories that were still under the control of ISIL and Jeish al-Fatah in different parts of Aleppo province.

The source said that the pro-government forces that recently liberated the Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city were about to launch large-scale offensives against ISIL positions in Eastern and Northeastern Aleppo and Jeish al-Fatah positions in Southern and Southwestern Aleppo.

The sources added that liberation of the Eastern districts of Aleppo was a great victory, but anti-terrorism battles in Aleppo province would be underway.

“The Jeish al-Fatah terrorists are still present in large regions in Aleppo province, in the meantime ISIL controls the key regions of al-Bab and Deir Hafer that are the gate to Raqqa province,” they said, adding, “Around 6,000 Syrian forces are deployed in Kuweires airbase in Eastern Aleppo to launch their operation.”

Based on reports, the Syrian military forces are about to start an operation from the Northern direction to free the towns of Deir Hafer and al-Bab, while other units will kick off their operation from the South to take back the districts of Rashedeen 4 and 5 and then Khan Touman.

Aleppo

The ISIL failed again to break through the government forces’ positions at Air Force Academy East of Aleppo province and retreated from the battlefield after several hours of clashes.

The ISIL terrorists in the village of Rasm al-Kama in Deir Hafer region attacked army positions in the village of Ansarullah near the Aleppo Air Force Academy, but the army men engaged in fierce clashes with them and inflicted a number of causalities on the terrorists.

The army men also destroyed three military vehicles of the ISIL.

The army troops also targeted the gatherings and movements of ISIL in South of Aran near the Air Force Academy, killing several militants and destroying two canons.

Also, on Wednesday, the Russian Peace Coordination Center in Syria announced that the country’s experts have cleared mines from 966 hectares of the newly-liberated neighborhoods of Eastern Aleppo city since December 5.

The Russian center said in a statement that an area as large as 966 hectares (each hectare equals 10,000 sq-m) has been cleansed from mines and bombs planted by Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups in the Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city.

The statement added that approximately 350 km of roads, 2,149 houses, 44 schools, 38 mosques, ten hospitals and clinics, a water pumping station and two power transition stations and a water treatment plant have been demined.

The statement added that the Russian soldiers managed to defuse over 14,700 bombs including 6,700 hand-mad grenades.

Also in the past 24 hours, a large number of Syrian families started returning to their homes after all terrorists were forced out of the Eastern districts of Aleppo city.

Hundreds of families from Eastern Aleppo’s Seif al-Doleh are now back to their houses after the Syrian and Russian troops finished defusing mines and bombs planted by the terrorists.

Deir Ezzur

Syrian Army troops fended off ISIL’s attack on their positions in the Eastern neighborhoods of Deir Ezzur city, inflicting major casualties on the militants.

The army soldiers engaged in several-hour-long fierce clashes with ISIL terrorists who had attacked heavily on their positions in al-Roshdiyeh neighborhoods, killing a large number of the militants.

The ISIL pulled the remaining pockets of its militants out of battlefield after they failed to prevail over the government troops’ positions.

The Syrian Air Force also pounded ISIL’s positions in Nursery and Petrochemical Faculties in the neighborhoods of al-Huweiqa and al-Kanamat and in surrounding areas of Deir Ezzur airbase South of the city.

The army’s artillery units also shelled ISIL’s positions near the airbase, killing a number of militants.

Homs

Syrian Army troops repelled a third joint attack of Fatah al-Sham Front (previously known as the al-Nusra Front) and Ahrar al-Sham on its positions near the village of Marimin on Wednesday.

The army engaged in fierce clashes with the terrorists and did not allow them to break through its positions in al-Houla region.

The army units deployed in surrounding areas of Marimin village fended off the terrorists groups’ joint offensive on their positions near Marimin.

Army reports said the terrorists launched their attack through Kafr Laha, Taldou and al-Tayibeh al-Qarbi villages.

The terrorist groups suffered at least a dozen casualties and retreated from the battlefield after hours of heavy fighting with the army.

In the meantime, Syrian fighter jets bombed the positions of Rajalullah and Ahrar al-Sham terrorists in the villages of Borj Qa’ei, Keisin, Talbiseh, Ein Issa al-Janoubi, Qarnateh and al-Sa’an al-Aswad in the Northern, Northwestern and Northeastern parts of Homs province, destroying a number of their machinegun-equipped vehicles.

The army aircraft also pounded ISIL’s positions and movements in the city of Palmyra and nearby areas, in Badiyeh al-Qarbi (the Western Desert), the Fourth Station and the villages of al-Tiyas and Sharifeh in Eastern Homs, leaving a number of militants dead and their military vehicles, canons and rocket launchers destroyed.

Damascus

Syrian Army soldiers, backed up by the country’s air force and artillery units, stormed terrorists’ positions in Wadi al-Bardi region, taking control over key roads in Western Ghouta, a military source reported Wednesday.

The source said simultaneous with air raids and artillery shelling, the army soldiers struck terrorists’ defense lines and won control of several roads connecting the region’s towns to hillsides in Wadi al-Bardi region.

A military source said that the army has taken control of a large number of buildings since the start of its operations from the town of Basimeh towards Wadi al-Bardi and killed tens of terrorists.

“A large number of militants also flee from Basimeh towards Deir Qanoun every day due to the army’s advances in the region,” the source went on to say.

Some other sources said that the Syrian government has been involved in negotiations with the militants in order to save the lives of the civilians that have been kidnapped by the terrorists and also prevent destruction of infrastructures of the towns in the region, as some of the terrorist groups have not joined the peace plan thus far.

The source also added that the army has assured that once the terrorists halt their attacks on the water reservoirs in Ein al-Fijeh, the army soldiers will provide security for the militants to leave the region to Idlib.

Also on Wednesday, the Syrian Army troops blocked terrorists’ move in heavy fighting in Eastern Ghouta.

The army soldiers warded off terrorists’ offensive on their positions in Wadi (desert) Ein Terma, killing over five militants and wounding several others.

In the meantime, the Syrian warplanes bombed terrorists’ centers in the town of al-Shifouniyeh and surrounding areas of the town of al-Hamouriyeh.

Dara’a

Syrian Army troops targeted a number of positions and bases of Fatah al-Sham Front across the Southern city of Dara’a, inflicting major casualties on the militants.

The army units hit the gatherings of Fatah al-Sham in al-Roba’ei checkpost on Tariq al-Saad (road to dam), al-Talabiyeh square, East of the credit bank and near the garden of the refugees camp in Dara’a al-Balad district, leaving a number of militants dead and many more wounded.

In relevant developments in Dara’a on Saturday, the army troops targeted several command bases of Fatah al-Sham Front in the Southern province of Dara’a, destroying three of them.

Raqqa

The predominately Kurdish ‘Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) continued to beat back ISIL terrorists from more positions West of Raqqa, the self-proclaimed capital of ISIL, wining back one more village in the region.

The SDF pushed back ISIL from the village of Hadaj after hours of non-stop clashes.

In the meantime, the Kurdish fighters repelled ISIL’s attack on their positions in the newly-captured village of Ja’abar al-Sharqi.

Over 38 ISIL militants were killed and six vehicles, a bomb-laden car, a machinegun-equipped vehicle and a canon have also been destroyed in the last two days of clashes in Hadaj and Ja’abar al-Sharqi.

The convoys are traveling via a special corridor from eastern Aleppo’s Salaheddine quarter to Rashidin 4 in the city’s western outskirts. The militants and their family members later go to Idlib by other transport.

To avoid provocations, the Russian Reconciliation Center monitors the situation round-the-clock using drones and web cameras. Special posts have been deployed to ensure security along the route of the convoys.

MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. The Syrian army has driven the militants out of the Aleppo quarters that remained under their control, First Deputy Head of the Main Operations Department at the Russian General Staff Lieutenant General Viktor Poznikhir said on Thursday.

“The militants have been driven out of all the quarters that remained under their control as a result of the Syrian troops’ offensive. During the operation, over 900 terrorists have been killed, dozens pieces of heavy weapons and other military equipment have been destroyed,” Poznikhir said.

“During the operation, 105 city quarters with a total area of 78.5 square kilometers, have been cleared of terrorists,” the general added.

The Syrian army launched the operation to regain control of the eastern part of Aleppo in late November.

Photo and video evidence of torture

Photo and video evidence of tortures and murders of civilians committed by militants, including those of the so-called moderate opposition, will be referred to international organizations, Poznikhir pointed out:

“Examination of shelters abandoned by militants has yielded numerous photo and video evidence of atrocities committed and recorded by them.”

Thus, according to Poznikhir, the Syrian military have found several prisons organized by militants in basements of living and administrative buildings. One of such prisons in the Alamji neighborhood was used to torture civilians suspected of organizing protests, as well as men and teenage boys who refused to fight for terrorist groups. Most of the prisoners were executed as the government troops launched an offensive, he added.

“I would like to note that in some cases among those who tortured and murdered civilians were members of armed groups of the so-called moderate opposition, which, as the West is claiming, allegedly defends Syrian from the current authorities. All evidence recovered will be systematized and referred to the relevant international organization for legal assessment,” he said.

Militants leave Aleppo

More than 3,000 militants have left Aleppo of their own free will, and more than half of them have been amnestied and released, according to Poznikhir.

“A total of 3,033 militants have left Aleppo voluntarily, 1,524 of them have been amnestied and released, while the rest are checked,” he said.

Apart from that, more than 1,000 militants have been evacuated from Aleppo via a humanitarian corridor, Poznikhir said.

“More than 1,000 people have been evacuated from the Salah al-Din quarter to the settlement of Al-Rashidin-4 via a specially established humanitarian corridor. As many as 20 passenger buses were provided by the Syrian authorities and ten ambulances were provided by the Red Crescent for that,” he said.

100,000 civilians evacuated from Aleppo

More than 100,000 civilians, including more than 47,000 children, were evacuated from Syria’s Aleppo via humanitarian corridors over the city liberation operation, according to Poznikhir.

“A total of 108,076 civilians, including 47,183 children, were evacuated via humanitarian corridors to the city’s safe quarters,” he said.

These people were accommodated in refugee centers organized beforehand. They were provided with hot meals and medical assistance.

Russian combat engineers have removed mines on a territory of 107 hectares in the Syrian city of Aleppo, Poznikhir said.

“Overall, the Russian combat engineers have demined 307 buildings today, including 37 socially important facilities. They have checked 30 kilometers of roads and neutralized a total of 2,742 explosive objects on an area of 107 hectares,” he said.

Formation of local self-government bodies

Formation of local self-government bodies will start in Aleppo’s liberated districts soon with the assistance of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties, according to Poznikhir.

“Within the next few days, formation of agencies of local self-government will begin in liberated districts of Aleppo with assistance of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties, they will gradually take on all responsibility for restoration of peaceful life in the city,” Poznikhir said.

Reconciliation agreements

Reconciliation agreements have been reached with heads of 1,057 settlements in Syria, Poznikhir said.

“Agreements on joining the reconciliation process have been reached with the heads of 1,057 settlements. As many as 94 agreements on cessation of hostilities have been reached with the leaders of moderate opposition armed groups,” he said.

He noted that the Russian center for the reconciliation of the warring parties continues its efforts to ensure observance of the ceasefire regime in Syria.

The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23. It is headquartered at the Hmeimim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.

URGENT: Aleppo Evacuation Starts after Militants Agree Fua’a, Kafraya Civilians Evacuation

The Syrian authorities and terrorist groups stationed in the Eastern parts of Aleppo reached an agreement to evacuate militants from the region in return for relocating thousands of besieged civilians from Fua’a and Kafraya in Idlib to government-ruled territories – FNA informs..

Local sources close to the dissidents said that all preparations have been made for the evacuation of militants and their families from Aleppo.

The latest reports from Eastern Aleppo said tens of ambulances and Green Buses have arrived at militant-held territories, and terrorists are readying to start evacuation any moment.

Evacuation of wounded militants started at 9am (Syria Times). Reports said the ambulances are heading for medical centers in Western Aleppo.

Earlier reports also said that 15,000 residents of Fua’a and Kafraya in Idlib who are under the terrorists’ siege would be evacuated.

Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin had told the UN Security Council meeting in New York on Tuesday that the fighting in Eastern Aleppo stopped and the Syrian government regained control over the territory after the withdrawal of militants from the city was agreed.

But, terrorists resumed fire Wednesday morning and pushing the deal into complete failure.

Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups has been targeting the Eastern and Western districts of Aleppo city regardless of the ceasefire declared on Tuesday night, inflicting heavy casualties on the people and blocking their exit from the war-hit city, local sources stressed.

The sources said that clashes resumed between the militants and the Syrian government forces in the Eastern Aleppo neighborhoods of Salahuddin and Seif al-Dowleh after Jeish al-Fatah terrorists dropped agreement on the exit of militants and violated the truce.

The sources added that the militants opened fire at the army and civilians in flagrant violation of the ceasefire, killing and wounding scores of people, including children.

Following the attacks, evacuation of the last group of militants from the Eastern part of the Syrian city of Aleppo delayed, if not cancelled at all.

“Everything has been ready for the withdrawal (of militants from Aleppo) since the night fell,” RIA Novosti quoted a sources as saying, adding “It was expected that the withdrawal would start early in the morning, but it has not started yet”.

Another news website reported that Fatah al-Sham Front (previously known as the al-Nusra Front) is disturbing the exit trend of the militants from Aleppo city.

The Syrian Army troops and popular forces restarted their attacks on Jeish al-Fatah’s positions in the Eastern districts of Aleppo city after the militants breached the truce.

Militants in Aleppo violated the agreement on leaving the city and used the ceasefire to regroup and begin hostilities again, the Russian center said in a statement on Wednesday.

The center added that it had prepared means for evacuation of militants to Idlib, in accordance with the deal reached by the Syrian authorities and the militants.

“When the transport arrived at the previously agreed loading place, the militants began shelling the convoy. Having used the ceasefire, the militants regrouped at dawn and renewed hostilities, trying to break through the positions of the Syrian army in the Northwestern direction,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the army repelled the attack and continued the operation to liberate Eastern Aleppo.

Media reports say the buses that have gone to Aleppo to take militants and civilians out of the city returned to depots.

The Syrian Army’s victories in Eastern Aleppo finally forced militant groups to leave the war-torn city as Jeish Al-Fatah terrorists are now encircled in a very small area left with the only two options of surrender or die.

The terrorist groups in Eastern Aleppo asked the Syrian Army to allow them leave the city for Idlib similar to other militant groups throughout the country that have opted for the same choice.

The Syrian army troops and popular forces squeezed Jeish al-Fatah terrorists in an area no larger than 2.5 sq/km, after taking control of nearly 99 percent of entire Eastern Aleppo.

A field source also disclosed that the defense lines of the terrorists completely collapsed and they were not able to resist against the government forces’ strikes, saying the army men and Hezbollah will soon liberate the remaining neighborhoods.

The Syrian army units started special operations in Aleppo after several humanitarian pauses declared by Damascus and Moscow to give a chance to the civilian population as well as the militants to leave the Eastern parts of the city through 8 corridors.

District after district have fallen into the hands of the Syrian army soldiers and their allies in the city of Aleppo, as the pro-government troops have recaptured most of the blocks and districts in the Northern and Southern parts of Eastern Aleppo.

Also, tens of thousands of civilians, including hundreds of children and newborn babies, have also left the Eastern part of the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo in recent days, while thousands of militants laid down their arms and left Eastern Aleppo through the special corridor.

Over the recent months, Aleppo has been a battlefield between government forces and numerous terrorist groups, however, in recent weeks, the Syrian Army has made significant gains in Eastern Aleppo and is close to liberating it from the militants.

Defense ministry organizes mass escape for Aleppo civilians via humanitarian corridors

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. The Russian Defense Ministry has organized a mass escape for civilians from Aleppo along the humanitarian corridors.

“The Russian reconciliation center has organized escape for civilians from east Aleppo along the humanitarian corridors in Karim-Khun and al-Mahayar to the city’s safe districts,” the ministry said.

“Only in the first half of the day, from eastern districts have escaped more than 20 thousand civilians, and 1,217 militants have laid arms,” the ministry spokesman added.

The people, who have used the corridors, are accommodated at special humanitarian centers, where they all receive hot food and medical assistance.

“People are escaping along the humanitarian corridors in an ongoing flow to the part of the city, controlled by the Syrian government,” spokesman of the Russian Defense Ministry Major General Igor Konashenkov said. “The Syrian government controls 93% of Aleppo.”

The Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria uses drones to monitor round-the-clock how civilians are escaping the blocked districts of the city. The online broadcast is available on the ministry’s website.

“We warn terrorists and militants from the so-called moderate opposition, and also address their supervisors. Do not try undertaking whatever provocations or even firing on civilians using the humanitarian corridors for the escape,” the spokesman said. “We address those, who for the recent several months announced readiness to send over to Aleppo their humanitarian assistance: to representatives of the US, Great Britain, France, Canada, the European Union and international organizations. It is time to verify your intentions,” Konashenkov has urged.

For the time of the humanitarian escape, the Syrian forces have stopped the attack. As the people flee the eastern districts, the Syrian forces will continue the combat operation to push out or kill the militants, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
