Syrian Army Equips IVECO Vehicles with Russian-Made Automatic Weapons
(FNA)- Military sources disclosed that the Syrian Army has equipped its Italy-made IVECO LMV M65 with heavy machineguns manufactured in Russia to reinvigorate its forces’ combat capabilities in their war on terrorism.

The sources said that Russian-made 12.7mm caliber DShK cannons have been mounted on Italian IVECO LMV M65 armored vehicles of the Syrian army, adding that the army’s vehicles have been enhanced to be equipped with the said capability.

The Syrian army could only mount light machineguns on its IVECO trucks.

The sources pointed out that the Tiger and Russian-made UAZ vehicles of the Syrian Army have been also enhanced in similar way.

Media sources disclosed on Tuesday that the Syrian and Russian fighter jets and choppers had been using very advanced Vikhr-1 anti-tank missiles in battle against terrorists in Homs province.

The Russian language Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily disclosed that photos of Vikhr-1 anti-tank missiles released on the internet have been taken from K-52 choppers’ anti-terrorists operation near al-Quaryatayn town in Southwestern Homs.

The Vikhr-1 missiles were designed for warplanes and military helicopters to be used against tanks and armored vehicles.

The missiles could also be used against aerial targets that could not fly very fast.

The Russian army started to equip its aircraft, specially Sukhoi-25 M fighter jets and K-52 choppers with the Vikhr-1 missiles in 2015.

The Vikhr-1 anti-tank missiles could hit a target at 10km distance in less than 28 seconds.

The missiles could also be fired by aircraft from a 4,000-meter distance above the target.

Erdogan’s adviser says Turkey will stop operation in Syria after capturing Manbij

Turkey will end its operation in Syria only after capturing the city of Manbij, Ilnur Cevik, an adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayuip Erdogan, said at a conference titled “Relations between Turkey and Russia: From the Period of Tension to Strengthening Cooperation” organized by the Sabah newspaper and the Press and Information Office of the Turkish government.

“Turkey is presently setting up a 90-kilometer buffer zone,” he said. “Ankara is trying to regain its presence there.” “As soon Manbij is captured, Turkey will stop its operation in Syria,” Cevik said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu earlier said that it is necessary to clean the city of Manbij from terrorists and Self-Defense Forces (Syrian Kurds).

Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Army Offensive in Aleppo Province

     (FNA)- The Syrian army attacked the terrorists in Aleppo province, and inflicted heavy losses on the militants over the past 24 hours.

The Syrian army killed and wounded scores of terrorists as they engaged in heavy clashes with the militants in the Western countryside of the city of Aleppo.

The Syrian army also inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist groups in other key regions across Syria.

Aleppo

The Syrian Army troops continued their advances against the ISIL in the Eastern parts of Aleppo province, and seized a strategic town close to the Southern gates of the town of al-Bab on Sunday.

The army soldiers started their operation in the town of Tadif this morning and managed to purge the town of ISIL terrorists after several hours of fierce clashes.

A military source said the army men started the Tadif operation from the town of Abu Taltal and opened their way into the key town.

Clashes were underway in the areas surrounding the newly-liberated town, he added.

The source further stated that no fighting has thus far been reported between the Syrian soldiers and the Turkish forces deployed in the region.

Reports said earlier on Sunday that the army troops engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL and managed to win back the towns of Laqiteh, al-Shami, Syritel hill (Tal Fikheh) and Abu Jabbar Kabir and al-Maqzouwat farms South of the terrorist-held town of al-Bab.

Field sources in Eastern Aleppo said that the army men also pushed ISIL back from the towns of Mastariheh Meiri, strategic Salim mountain, Um Khazreh mountain, Khirbet al-Kayar, Qasr al-Brij, Shahnaseh, al-Mazroufeh and several more positons and farms in the region.

A large number of ISIL terrorists, including foreign nationals, were killed and a number of bomb-laden suicide vehicles were destroyed in the army advances.

Homs

Syrian Army troops stormed ISIL’s defense lines in Eastern Homs and beat the terrorists back from al-Maher oil and gas field with the back up of the country’s fighter jets and artillery fire.

The army soldiers, backed up by warplanes and artillery units’ heavy fire, managed to advance against the ISIL and captured al-Maher energy field, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.

A field source said that the army aircraft’s heavy bombardments and artillery units’ fire inflicted major losses on the ISIL.

Elsewhere in the same province, the Syrian fighter jets pounded terrorists’ positions and gatherings in al-Waer district in the Northeastern outskirts of Homs city in retaliation for the terrorists’ suicide attack.

Idlib-Hama

The Syrian Army troops and aircraft launched massive attacks on terrorist groups’ concentration centers and positions in Southern Idlib and Northern Hama, killing over 15 and wounding several more, including a field commander.

The warplanes carried out severe attacks on the positions and movements of Al-Nusra Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) and Jeish al-Nasr in the villages of Ma’ar Harmeh and al-Jaberiyeh, killing seven terrorists, wounding 13 others and destroying a military vehicle.

The army aircraft meantime bombed a position of Jeish al-Nasr in the village of al-Mastariheh in Southeastern Idlib, destroying the position completely and killing eight militants.

The army soldiers also launched heavy attacks on terrorists’ positions in the town of al-Latamina in Northern Hama, killing a commander of Tajamo al-Ezzah known as Abdul Qader Abdul Karim.

The army men also targeted gatherings and concentration centers of terrorists in Northern Hama, destroying a command post of Ahrar al-Sham in Kafr Zita, and killing a number of members of Al-Nusra Front and Jeish al-Nasr in the village of al-Homeirat and Tal (hill) Hawash.

Raqqa

The predominantly Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued the third phase of the Euphrates Rage Operation in Raqqa province and drove ISIL out of more territories to close off the main road between Raqqa and Deir Ezzur.

The SDF opened a fourth front against ISIL to block the road used by the Wahhabi terrorists between the cities of Raqqa and Deir Ezzur.

The Kurdish forces engaged in intense clashes with ISIL in the village of Khirbet 67km Northeast of Deir Ezzur and advanced some 28 km against ISIL, taking control over the villages of Halwa, Qamar al-Din and Malha al-Sarv.

In the meantime, the SDF managed to win control over the village of Qandil Sherki, Abu Khashab and Malehat al-Zour in al-Makman battlefield in Western Deir Ezzur.

Dara’a

ISIL terrorists engaged in heavy infighting with other rival groups in Western Dara’a on Sunday and seized control over two towns.

The ISIL-affiliated terrorist group of Jeish Khalid Bin Valid started a new round of hostilities with other militant groups in Western Dara’a and took control of the towns of Jalin and al-Mazira’ah after fierce clashes.

The ISIL further attacked the positions of rival groups in the village of Sheikh Saeed Northeast of Jalin.

Field sources, meantime, reported that terrorist groups in Dara’a city have dispatched fresh forces and more military equipment to Western Dara’a to reinvigorate their comrades in the war against ISIL.

      Russian deputy foreign minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, said supplies of Russian weapons to Baghdad improve their combat potential in the fight against ISIL.

Bogdanov who is also Russia’s special presidential representative for the Middle East and African countries and a high-ranking Russian diplomat, Moscow “is working closely with the Iraqis in fighting ISIL, both in Iraq itself and in neighboring Syria”, Interfax reported.

The Russian diplomat also added that the work of the four-party information center involving the military of Iraq, Russia, and also Syria and Iran, is aimed at attaining these objectives.

Bogdanov made the comments at the conference ‘The Middle East: When Will Tomorrow Come?’ held by the Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow.

    (FNA)- The Yemeni army and popular forces’ missiles and artillery shells hit the strategic military bases of the Saudi troops in Najran and Jizan provinces in the Southern part of the kingdom, destroying a number of them.

Saudi Arabia’s al-Shabakeh and al-Fawaz military bases were destroyed in the Yemeni forces’ offensives.

Meantime, the Yemeni army and popular forces also hit al-Jabaneh, al-Sudanieh and al-Beit al-Abyaz military bases in Jizan province, inflicting heavy losses on the Saudi army troops.

Meantime, a Saudi border guard was also killed in al-Hanjar military base in Assir province in the Southern part of Saudi Arabia.

In a relevant development on Monday, the Yemeni Army and popular forces shot down two Saudi spy drones flying over al-Jawf in Northern Yemen and Jizan provinces Southwest of Saudi Arabia.

The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were brought down after they were intercepted over the strategic regions in al-Jawf and Jizan provinces.

“The first drone was downed in al-Aqaba region of al-Jawf province and the second drone was brought down as it was flying over al-Fariza military base in Jizan province on Sunday,” a military source said.

The Yemeni Army and Ansarullah fighters have shot down several Saudi-owned UAVs and fighter jets across the country since the beginning of the Saudi-led invasion against the impoverished country.

Also on Sunday, the Yemeni army and popular forces destroyed the military positions of the Saudi-led troops in Najran province in the Southern part of Saudi Arabia with a Zalzal-2 missile.

The Saudi-led forces’ concentration centers in Najran province were flattened after they were hit with a Zalzal-2 missile.

The Yemeni military sources confirmed that the Zalzal-2 missile precisely hit the target, killing tens of Saudi-led troops and destroying their military equipment.

No further detail is available now.

Meantime, three Saudi troops were killed by Yemeni army and Ansarullah snipers in Assir and Jizan provinces.

Two Saudi troops were killed in the Northern part of Al-Khubeh in Jizan province, the Arabic-language media quoted local sources as saying.

The sources also said that another Saudi military force was killed by the Yemeni snipers in al-Arez military base in al-Raboua’a region in Assir province.

Another Saudi military force was also killed by the Yemeni snipers in al-Orfeh military base in Jizan province.

 (FNA)- The Syrian army repelled an attack by the terrorists to capture its military positions in the vicinity of the ancient city of Palmyra in the Eastern part of Homs province.

The terrorists were pushed back from their strongholds near Palmyra city in Homs province.

Scores of terrorists were killed and wounded in tough battle with the Syrian government forces.

The Syrian army and popular forces also continued their military gains in other key provinces across Syria.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops warded off another attack of ISIL in Eastern Homs and then in a rapid counterattack managed to drive terrorists out of more positions West of ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur).

The army soldiers deployed in the farms near the villages of Tarfeh al-Qarbi and Tarfeh al-Sharqi engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL that had attacked them from its positions in the Western parts of al-Bayarat region and al-Moqsem region.

Field sources said that the army men engaged in clashes with ISIL for hours and managed to fend off their attack, killing and wounding at least 58 terrorists.

The sources added that the army units carried out rapid counterattack on ISIL in then farms East of Tarfeh al-Sharqi and managed to reach the entrances of al-Moqsem and could advance deep into ISIL’s positions in the Eastern part of the region.

Earlier reports said that the army soldiers struck ISIL’s defense lines along the strategic mount of al-Hayal and pushed terrorists back from more positions in the Western slopes of al-Hayal South of al-Bayarat region.

ISIL left behind a large number of dead members and pulled back the remaining pockets of its forces towards East.

A military source said that the army units could take also control over Abraj al-Tayran (Flight Towers) North of al-Bayarat region after hours of clashes with ISIL terrorists.

Earlier on Saturday, the Syrian Army men continued their advances against ISIL in Eastern Homs and managed to recapture more territories West of Palmyra.

The army soldiers struck ISIL’s defense lines along the strategic mount of al-Hayal and pushed terrorists back from more positions in the Western slopes of al-Hayal South of al-Bayarat region.

ISIL left behind a large number of dead members and pulled back the remaining pockets of its forces towards East.

A military source said that the army units could take also control over Abraj al-Tayran (Flight Towers) North of al-Bayarat region after hours of clashes with ISIL terrorists.

Aleppo

The Syrian Army soldiers, backed up by the country’s fighter jets, stormed the positions of Al-Nusra Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) in the Western countryside of Aleppo city, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The army troops deployed in Jam’iyat al-Zahra neighborhood in the Western part of Aleppo city attacked Al-Nusra Front’s defense lines and managed to take back several buildings near Rasoul Azam grand mosque in the Western countryside of Aleppo.

Field sources confirmed that the army aircraft bombed Al-Nusra’s centers in al-Bahouth al-Elmiyeh region West of Aleppo city simultaneous with the ground troops’ advances, killing at least 21 terrorists and wounding tens of others.

Sources close to the dissidents reported on Friday that the Syrian air force pounded militants’ positions and gathering centers in Western Aleppo, killing at least 31 terrorists.

According to the pro-militant Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the militants were killed during airstrikes on their bases in the Western parts of Aleppo.

The report came after news websites close to the terrorists reported that tens of the members of the newly-formed Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) militants were killed in the Syrian air force’s attacks on al-Bohouth al-Ilmiyah building in the Western parts of Aleppo city.

Meantime, the Syrian army’s artillery units targeted the terrorists’ centers and moves in al-Rashedeen 4 and 5 regions in Southwestern countryside of Aleppo, inflicting losses and damages on the militants.

Sweida

The Syrian Army targeted the movements of ISIL in Northeastern Sweida, destroying a long convoy of their military vehicles and a large fuel tanker.

Several vehicles of ISIL terrorists, including a fuel tanker, were destroyed in a heavy attack of army soldiers on the terrorists’ convoy in Northeastern Sweida.

According to army reports, the ISIL has lost a number of forces in the attack on its convoy.

The report further added that the army men also hit the main center of ISIL terrorists in Tal Ashhib al-Janoubi, killing the entire terrorists in the position.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists in Deir Ezzur’s cemetery in the Southern outskirts of the city and managed to capture one more key hill as it moves to lift the siege on the city’s military airport.

The army units, backed by the country’s fighter jets, could beat ISIL back from the strategic hill of Sho’ayb in al-Maqaber (cemetery) region, inflicting tens of casualties on the terrorists.

A field source said that army’s control over Sho’ayb hill was a great move towards ending the ISIL’s siege on Deir Ezzur’s airbase and connecting it to residential areas with over 1,300 families in the Eastern part of the city.

Other sources confirmed that simultaneous with the army’s advances in al-Maqaber, missile and artillery units of the army and meantime the Russian and Syrian fighter jets targeted ISIL’s positions near al-Maqaber, al-Ma’amel, al-Thardah mountain, Jonayd division and Tamin Brigade in the Southern outskirts of Deir Ezzur, leaving a number of terrorists dead and their military equipment destroyed.

Also, the army soldiers engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL in Deir Ezzur’s cemetery in the Southern outskirts of the city and won back Height 23 that overlooks the regions of Sakhra Makbat al-Kanasa and al-Thardah valley South of the cemetery on Thursday.

A field source reported heavy casualties of ISIL terrorists near the Height 23, adding that the army men are fortifying their positions around the newly-liberated region.

Dara’a

The Syrian Army troops fended off anther heavy attack of Al-Nusra Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) in al-Manshiyeh neighborhood, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The army men warded off another massive attack of Al-Nusra Front on their positions in al-Manshiyeh neighborhood in Dara’a al-Balad district, destroying several bomb-laden vehicles of the militants and killing a number of them, including Commander of Aknaf al-Omari Battalion Mohammad Ahmad Asfour.
