Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Army Offensive in Hama Province

 

Syrian Army Recaptures Lost Lands in Northern Hama

 

(FNA)- The Syrian army attacked the terrorists in Northern Hama province, and inflicted heavy losses on the militants over the past 24 hours.

The Syrian government troops stormed and destroyed the terrorists’ defense lines in the town of Ma’an in Northern Hama and managed to regain control of a strategic village and hilltop in the area.

Several terrorists were killed and many more were wounded in Hama province.

The Syrian army also inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist groups in other key provinces across Syria.

Hama

Syrian Army troops inflicted major casualties on the terrorists and drove them out of a village and its surrounding hills that they lost to the militants a couple of days ago.

The army soldiers stormed terrorists’ defense lines in the town of Ma’an and managed to recapture the small village of Zarat al-Aliyeh and its nearby hilltop after fierce battle with Jeish al-Izzah.

Over 20 militants were killed and a number of armored vehicles equipped with anti-aircraft machine-guns were destroyed in the army attack.

Also, the army repulsed two attacks launched by the terrorist groups against their positions in Northern Hama and could advance in new areas in a counterattack.

As Syrian army units continue their massive operations in the Northern parts of Hama, terrorists conducted a heavy attack on their positions in Ma’an and Souran but the Syrian soldiers could ward off the attacks and inflict heavy damage and casualties on the militants.

After repelling the terrorists’ attacks in the Northern parts of Souran town, the Syrian army launched a counterattack and targeted their positions and supply routes with artillery and missile fire, and advanced in new districts of al-Basatin region in the Western parts of Ma’an town.

During the operations, at least 16 terrorists were killed and 7 military vehicles were destroyed.

Meantime, the Syrian fighter jets carried out tens of sorties over the terrorists’ supply routes which link Idlib and Hama provinces to Aleppo to prevent transfer of fighters, weapons and ammunition.

As the Syrian army’s anti-terrorism operations continues in different parts of Aleppo city, the army aircraft carried out several combat flights over the supply roads used by the terrorists in the provinces of Idlib and Hama in order to prevent dispatch of fresh militants and equipment to the terrorist groups in Aleppo.

The Syrian bombers targeted a long convoy of terrorists’ vehicles on Hama-Idlib highway that is one of the terrorists’ most important lines of movement, killing a number of Jeish al-Fatah’s terrorists and destroying their military vehicles.

Dara’a

The Syrian Army troops targeted terrorists’ concentration centers and gatherings in the Central parts of Dara’a city and in the Northeastern part of the same province, inflicting major casualties on the militants.

The army soldiers targeted the positions of the terrorist groups along the al-Sad (Dam) road and meantime opened fire at militants’ movements in Bosra Square and al-Tulabiyeh Square in Dara’a al-Mahatta district, killing and injuring a number of terrorists and destroying their equipment, weapons and ammunition.

Another army unit targeted a gathering of the terrorists Northwest of the village of al-Gharyiyeh al-Gharbiyeh in Northeastern Dara’a, destroying a bulldozer and killing almost all the terrorists near the construction machinery.

Deir Ezzur

Syrian Army troops and popular forces fended off ISIL’s offensive on their positions in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur city, inflicting a heavy death toll on the terrorists.

The army soldiers and pro-government tribal fighters repelled ISIL’s attack on army positions in industrial area East of the city, killing or wounding tens of terrorists.

The ISIL started its attack on government forces’ defense lines from Huweija Saq flank. After an hour of heavy fighting, the government forces pushed ISIL back from the battlefield.

In the meantime, the army men repelled ISIL’s attack on their positions at Zamen battalion South of Deir Ezzur airbase and near the village of al-Mari’eiyeh.

The ISIL terrorists have tried hard in recent days to capture the lands South of Deir Ezzur airbase, but they have been defeated each time.

Also, the army continued military operations in Deir Ezzur and killed tens of terrorists on Thursday, among them Saudi, Moroccan and Egyptian nationals.

The Syrian army forces targeted the ISIL bases in al-Roshdiyeh and al-Sina’ah districts and al-Jafrah village in the Eastern parts of Deir Ezzur killing over 20 terrorists and blowing up their weapons and ammunition.

The Syrian soldiers stationed in Deir Ezzur airbase also clashed with the ISIL terrorists in the Eastern side of the airbase, leaving 10 militants dead.

Also in response to the terrorists’ attempts to attack the military parts of al-Jafrah in the Southeastern side of Deir Ezzur, the army units inflicted heavy casualties on them and destroyed three of their military vehicles.

The Syrian forces also targeted an ISIL military vehicle in Huweija al-Sakar-al-Jafrah passage, Southeast of Deir Ezzur, with missiles which smashed the vehicle and killed or wounded all the militants inside.

Damascus

Syrian military forces discovered a long tunnel of the terrorist groups in Eastern Ghouta and destroyed it.

The army soldiers discovered a 250-meter-long tunnel of the terrorists in Harasta used for transferring militants, weapons and ammunition.

The army’s engineering units destroyed the tunnel and militants’ positions above it.

The army troops continued to storm Jeish al-Islam terrorists’ positions in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and came close to Douma city on Wednesday.

The army soldiers struck more victories against terrorists of Jeish al-Islam near the strategic town of Meida’ani and came closer to the city of Douma, the main stronghold of Jeish al-Islam in region.

Backed up by the Syrian fighter jets, the army men stormed terrorists’ defense lines in Meida’ani and managed to advance against them.

Terrorist-affiliated websites also disclosed that concurrent with army advances and its capture of over seven farms near Meida’ani, the rebels of Jeish al-Islam retreated from several bases in the town.

“The army attack on terrorists in Meida’ani inflicted a heavy blow to Jeish al-Islam, because this town is one of the most important strongholds of the terrorists and is seen as their center of gravity in the region,” a Syrian military source said.

The source further added that the army soldiers are on the threshold of cutting off one of the main lines of terrorists’ movements from the town of al-Dhamir to Douma and will soon tighten siege on the terrorists.

“After the army control over Meida’ani, the government forces will arrive at al-Nashabiyeh region which is called by the terrorists as the first defense line of Douma,’ the source underlined.

Aleppo

Syrian Army troops and popular forces continued their advances against Jeish al-Fatah terrorists in Eastern Aleppo and seized control over half of Hananou Housing Project.

The army soldiers and their popular allies engaged in tough battle with terrorists of Nouralddeen al-Zinki and captured over fifty percent of Hananou Housing Project area.

In the meantime, a group of Palestinian Resistance fighters pushed terrorists back from different parts of Hananou, including Welfare House, Governorate Building, al-Amiliyeh area, Post Building, Eastern Mosque and a Wedding Hall and then moved towards the Southern neighborhoods of Hananou Housing quarter.

Militant groups have thus far suffered a heavy death toll in the attacks, a field source said, adding that fierce clashes are still underway near Ba’eidin square.

The army soldiers have also managed to approach the Northern parts of Hananou Housing Project and the Youth Housing Area in the recent days.
