Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces General of the Army Valery Gerasimov stated about the decision taken by the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu to set a humanitarian pause in Aleppo at 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. on November 4 under the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief :
“All attempts of insurgents to break through in Aleppo have not succeeded.
Terrorists have suffered mass losses in manpower, armament and combat hardware. They have no possibilities to leave the city.
In order to avoid senseless victims, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu took a decision to set a humanitarian pause in Aleppo at 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. on November 4 under the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Vladimir Putin.
This decision has been approved with the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic.
All corridors, which had been prepared by the Russian Centre for reconciliation, in Aleppo will be operating for withdrawal of citizens and insurgents.
Taking into account the incapability of our American colleagues to separate opposition from terrorists, we are addressing to all armed groups’ leaders to cease the warfare and withdraw from Aleppo with the weapon.
Two corridors are opened for this purpose. All the governmental troops and hardware will be withdrawn from the corridors.
The first corridor leads to the Syrian and Turkish border, and the second one leads to Idlib.
Other six corridors are operating to give way for civilians, medical and casualty evacuation.
The Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides and the government troops will provide security of withdrawal of armed formations and civilians from the Aleppo city.
