Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu begins his two-day visit to Kazakhstan this Thursday, the Kazakh Defense Ministry’s press service reports.
Shoigu and Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov will have talks to discuss prospects for the development of bilateral military and technical cooperation.
The two ministers will make a joint statement on January 31 after their talks.
In the first half of December, the Kazakh defense minister met in Astana with Russian Vice-Premier Dmitry Rogozin. They agreed on plans to develop already operating joint companies in Kazakhstan and prospects to create new joint projects. They also discussed the practical implementation of the agreement to set up a united regional air defense system of Kazakhstan and Russia.
